  • "The Tune of Nostalgia" trails the life of Vahid Akhbari, a young Iranian who leaves Iran in search of success in the West.  While in  Europe, Vahid does not find the riches and success he thought the West would present, but is instead crassly confronted with the lonely desperation shared by all who live the refugee life.

    Vahid’s search for meaning eventually leads him to find his refuge in the most unexpected place. “This film is based upon the true life experiences of Iranian refugees in Austria,” says writer and producer Joseph Hovsepian who spent time in the refugee camps in Austria after the martyrdom of his father Haik Hovsepian, former superintendent of churches in Iran. “The script was developed from the real life conversations of refugees and the stories from their shared experience.”
